Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

Base pay range

$35.00/hr - $43.00/hr

Duties
  • Perform nursing tasks within the scope of supportive and restorative care, medication administration, and specialized tasks under the supervision of a Registered Professional Nurse or licensed physician/dentist.
  • Deliver nursing care in structured, routine situations free of scientific complexity.
  • Assist with activities of daily living.
  • Administer treatments and routine tasks such as suctioning and urinary catheterizations.
  • Prepare patients for surgery, diagnostic tests, treatments, and examinations.
  • Administer medications within scope of practice. Collect, label, and process specimens accurately.
  • Identify and set up intravenous equipment and deliver solutions for infusion through peripheral access devices.
  • Administer blood or blood products with special training.
  • Report observations, treatments, medications, incidents, or accidents related to patients to the Registered Professional Nurse and record on appropriate documents following unit charting formats.
Education Requirements
  • Completion of an educational program for licensure as an LPN.
  • Successful completion of the New York State Department of Health LPN IV Therapy Initial Program.
  • Completion of annual updates in intravenous therapy procedures.
  • Licensing and Certification: LPN issued by the New York State Department of Health; Basic Life Saver (BLS) certification from AHA.
