LICENSED PRACTICAL NURSE (LPN)

Full Time, Days

Job Description:

1. Assist in the direction of nursing services for the unit/hall, in accordance with the Nursing Practice Act, under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
2. Delegate duties to professional nurses and non-professional nursing personnel, monitoring work performance under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
3. Observe patients for symptoms and reactions, including physical and mental conditions, indicating adverse changes.
4. Notify attending physicians of emergencies and patient deaths; implement changes in orders as instructed by physicians.
5. Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Graduated from an accredited School of Nursing with a valid LPN license.
3. Current license from the North Carolina Board of Nursing; proof of renewal required every other year.
4. Willingness to serve as charge nurse and work during emergencies to ensure adequate coverage.
5. Ability to provide quality nursing care, follow doctors’ orders, and demonstrate a genuine interest in geriatric nursing.
6. CPR certification valid yearly.
7. Attend in-service training and staff meetings as required.
