Job summary

Matrix Providers is hiring a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN/LVN) in Women’s Health to join our team serving the Langley Air Force Base community at 633 Medical Group, Langley AFB, VA.

This full-time position offers an hourly compensation of $28/hour, plus a health and welfare allowance, and a comprehensive benefits package including PTO, holidays, and a 401(k). Schedule typically Mon-Fri, 0630–1800, with 9-hour shifts.

Qualifications

  • Active LPN/LVN license.
  • Graduate from accredited nursing program.
  • One year hands-on patient care experience in outpatient setting within past 24 months.

Responsibilities

  • Initiate and complete assigned patient care.
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
  • Observe and respond to patient needs and educate patients and families.
  • Recognize emergencies and seek RN/MD assistance as needed.
  • Assist in diagnostic tests and prepare equipment and patients for procedures.
  • Orient peers to unit policies and procedures.

Matrix Providers is hiring a Licensed Practical Nurse: Women's Health to join our team of talented professionals who provide health care services to our Military Service Members and their families at 633 Medical Group, Langley Air Force Base, VA.

  • Employment Status: Full-time
  • Compensation: This is an hourly position, paid bi-weekly.
    • $28 /hour plus H&W $5.09
  • Schedule: Services shall be provided Monday through Friday, between the hours of 0630 and 1800 hours. Shifts will normally be scheduled for nine (9) hours, to include an uncompensated sixty (60) minute meal break. In no instance will the HCW be required to provide services in excess of eighty (80) hours per two-week period.

Requirements: The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN/LVN)must have and meet the following:

  • Degree: Certificate.
  • Education: Graduate from an accredited community college, junior college, college, university, or vocational nursing program approved by the appropriate State agency and accredited by the Commission on Nursing Education Accreditation (CNEA).
  • Experience: One year of practical or vocational nurse experience after graduation and Practiced as an LPN performing hands-on patient care in an outpatient clinical setting for at least 12 months within the past 24 months, experience in gynecology/obstetrics preferred.
  • Licensure: Current, full, active, and unrestricted license as a practical or vocational nurse.
Job Summary:
  • Initiate, perform and complete assigned duties in providing care to variable patient populations.
  • Complete assigned patient care based on the patient's conditions, use judgment in selecting the appropriate order and sequence of procedures and treatments, and accurately recognize, report, and record relevant patient information.
  • Observe, identify and respond to the patient's needs for care, including medication, equipment-assisted care, and patient/family education.
  • Prepare and administer prescribed medications (oral, topical, subcutaneous, intramuscular, and intravenous) and perform treatments according to established policies/procedures.
  • Recognize urgent or emergent patient care situations, seek the assistance of the RN and MD/DO, and initiate appropriate emergency interventions as directed.
  • Perform support duties for complex diagnostic tests and specialized practices or procedures, which include preparing the patient, assisting in the diagnostic examination, preparing and handling specialized instruments or other specialized equipment, and monitoring the patient's condition before, during, and following the procedure.
  • Orient peers and ancillary personnel to unit policies and procedures, skills, and standards of practice.
  • Integrate healthy work environment principles that result in improved patient healthcare delivery, education of patients and their families, and employee satisfaction.
