AtlantiCare is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse Surgical Technician for the Operating Room Mainland Campus. This part-time role supports the inter-disciplinary team, performs nursing tasks within licensed scope, and coordinates care under RN/physician supervision.

The position requires NJ LPN licensure and BLS/CPR certification, with potential travel between OR locations. The candidate should have a nursing diploma from an accredited program, demonstrate clinical competencies, and be prepared

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Current licensure as LPN in New Jersey.
• Current BLSHCP/CPR certification.
• Experience or certification as a surgical technologist preferred or grandfathered under state provisions.

Responsibilities

• Provide ambulatory LPN care within the scope of practice under RN/physician supervision.
• Document objective and subjective findings and interventions.
• Coordinate with interdisciplinary team to align with medical treatment plan.
• Participate in education, health teaching, and patient/family support and restoration of health.

ATLANTICARE _____________________________________________ROLE DESCRIPTION The Ambulatory Licensed Practical Nurse is a member of the collaborative interdisciplinary team. The Ambulatory Licensed Practical Nurse utilizes the care process consistent with their license and within their scope of practice. The practice of nursing as a Ambulatory Licensed Practical Nurse is defined as performing tasks and responsibilities within the framework of case finding; reinforcing the patient and family teaching program through health teaching, health counseling and provision of supportive and restorative care, under the direction of a Registered Nurse or licensed Physician. The Registered Nurse is responsible to oversee any necessary coordination of the interdisciplinary plan of care and provides for its consistency with the medical treatment plan. Licensed care providers responsible for utilizing the care process relative to their scope of practice and knowledge base, document both objective and subjective physical findings and interventions. All patient care activities are administered according to standards, organizational policy and procedural guidelines. The Licensed Practical Nurse actively supports performance improvement initiatives by participating in educational activities. The Licensed Practical Nurse assumes responsibility for continued professional and personal growth. QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: Current licensure as LPN in the State of New Jersey. Current BLSHCP. SPECIALITY EXPERIENCE PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS Demonstrates the ability to perform the department specific competencies as listed on the Assessment and Evaluation Tool. Qualifications

EDUCATION: High School degree or equivalent; ability to read, speak, and write English.Successful completion of a nationally or regionally accredited educational program for surgical technologist and holds and maintains a certified surgical technologist credential administered by National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting or its successor, or other nationally recognized credentialing organization; or has completed an appropriate training program for surgical technology in the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Crops, or Coast Guard of the United States or in the United States Public Health Service Commissioned Corps; or provides evidence that the person was employed to practice surgical technology in a health care facility on the effective date of P.L.2011, C.148 (c.26:2h-12.62 et seq.) or that the person was employed to practice surgical technology in a surgical practice, as defined in subsection g. of section 12 of P.L.1971, c. 136 (C26:2H-12), on the effective date of section 1 of P.L.2017, c.283.Requirements are grandfathered if evidence is provided to show the incumbent was employed to practice surgical technology in a health care facility on December 21st 2011.Specialty Experience Advanced Certification RequiredOR Preferred but not required. Proficiency in Clinical Applications preferred at time of hire; incumbents within position will be trained appropriately and then skill will be required for this position within 30-60 days from date of hire. BLSHCP certification required upon hire or transfer.
