As a Licensed Practical Nurse, you will perform the following duties:

• Patient Care: Provide basic nursing care, monitor conditions, and support daily living activities
• Medication Tasks: Administer medications and treatments under clinical direction and document all actions
• Clinical Procedures: Assist with tests, screenings, and restorative care while following established protocols
• Emergency Response: Respond to urgent situations and deliver first aid, CPR, or AED when needed
• Record Management: Update electronic health records and prepare required reports and documentation
• Supply Maintenance: Maintain clean equipment, manage inventory, and ensure treatment areas stay stocked

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment, 40-hour work week.
• The Department of Corrections is staffed by 3 work shifts that cover the facility 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
  • 1st shift: 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM; 2nd shift: 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM; and 3rd shift: 10:00 PM to 6:30 AM
  • Alternative work schedules may be available, depending on operational needs.

• This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.
• Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

QUALIFICATIONS

Necessary Special Requirements:

• This position requires active authorization to practice as a Licensed Practice Nurse in Pennsylvania.
• All employees possessing an active temporary practice permit must obtain licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse within the one (1) year period defined by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing.

Other Requirements:

• PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
• If you are within 60 days of completing a licensed practical nursing program approved by the State Board of Nursing, you are eligible to apply for this job posting. At the time of appointment to a position, you must show proof of possession of a current, valid PA temporary practice permit or PA Licensed Practical Nurse license.
• Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
• You must be able to perform essential job functions.
