Summary
Licensed Practical Nurse performs advanced practical nursing work in the care and treatment of physically or mentally ill patients. Employees in this classification perform a variety of nursing care assignments in one or more inpatient or outpatient areas, requiring more advanced knowledge and skills of practical nursing. Emphasis of the work is on performance of specialized as well as more difficult and responsible duties in patient care, giving assistance to physicians and nurses, and performing instructional tasks.

Generally requires 1 to 3 years of related experience.
Education
Graduation from an accredited LPN program is required.
Credentials
Valid Florida LPN license is required. American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) and any additional applicable life support certification for Healthcare Providers is required upon hire with at least 6 months validity and maintenance at JHS for the duration of employment. 30 hour IV training must be from a Florida Board of Nursing approved program or be a Compact Nursing State (States participating in the multi-state compacts licensing).
