Job Summary and Qualifications

The Licensed Practical Nurse participates in direct patient care, administers medications and helps with guidance of non-professional personnel. Provides prescribed medical treatment and personal care services to psychiatric patients in hospital. Works under the supervision of the Registered Nurse utilizing the nursing process. What you will do in this role:

1. You will write initial treatment plan and assist with ongoing case management duties as assigned.
2. You will participate actively in ongoing treatment and discharge planning.
3. You will observe patients, record significant conditions and reactions, and notify supervisor or physician of patients condition and reaction to drugs, treatments, and significant incidents.
4. You will chart patient information according to hospital standard.
5. You will take and record patient’s vital signs and implement CIWA (Clinical Institute Withdrawal Assessment - Alcohol) and COWS (Clinical Opiate Withdrawal Scale) screenings per doctor’s orders.
6. You will provide direct nursing care and administer specified medication, orally or by subcutaneous or intermuscular injection, and notes time and amount on patient chart.

What Qualifications You Will Need:

• Current LPN licensure from the state of residence.
• Demonstrated competency in BLS required upon hire and maintained.
