Summary: Responsible for enhancing and improving the SRIM experience specifically in heartful care for our residents and their families. Demonstrates and promotes SRIM’s core value of the golden rule—treating residents, families, visitors, and associates with respect. Performs nursing procedures to ensure residents' comfort and well-being, such as assisting with admissions, activities of daily living, and administering medications. Supervises non-licensed nursing staff and participates in their evaluation.

Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Making sound decisions with awareness of their impact.
  • Setting and managing priorities.
  • Responding to calls from staff during nights and weekends.
  • Communicating effectively during shift changes about residents' conditions.
  • Ensuring accurate medication administration and controlled substance counts.
  • Completing all required documentation and logs accurately.
  • Providing direct resident care as needed.
  • Participating in incident investigations and following healthcare regulations.
  • Maintaining a safe environment and practicing proper body mechanics.
  • Adhering to emergency procedures and HIPAA regulations.
  • Providing feedback and participating in staff evaluations.
  • Ensuring a clean, safe, and dignified environment for residents.
  • Wearing appropriate attire and being available as essential personnel during emergencies.
  • Taking initiative, offering solutions, and performing additional duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Direct supervision of staff within the Resident Services/Nursing Department, including training, performance reviews, and resolving issues.

Physical Demands: Regularly standing, walking, using hands, and occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds. Accommodations may be provided for disabilities.

Work Environment: Exposure to bloodborne pathogens and other hazards typical of healthcare settings. Reasonable accommodations are available.

Qualifications: Must have excellent reading, writing, math, reasoning, and computer skills. A high school diploma or GED, with 1-2 years of related experience, and a valid state nursing license are required.
