Job summary

Sunshine Behavioral Health Group in Bastrop, TX is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse for a PRN schedule. You will perform intake assessments, monitor patient health, administer medications, document up-to-date records, and collaborate with the clinical team in a detox and recovery setting.

Qualifications

• Active LPN license in the State of Texas.
• CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Ability to stay calm and organized in fast-paced situations.
• Strong documentation skills and attention to detail.
• Compassion, professionalism, and a team mindset.
• SUD/MH experience is a plus — not required.

Responsibilities

• Complete nursing intake assessments and support detox treatment plans.
• Conduct daily nurse visits and monitor client health status.
• Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments.
• Process labs and communicate results.
• Maintain accurate, compliant documentation (HIPAA & regulatory standards).
• Respond to medical concerns with confidence and compassion.
• Support clients through detox and stabilization.
• Collaborate with providers, RNs, LPNs, and the clinical team.
• Communicate with families when appropriate.
• Coordinate hospital transfers and nurse-to-nurse communication.
• Maintain medical supply inventory.
• Participate in training and staff meetings.
• Additional duties as assigned by the Director of Nursing.
