Job summary

CSL Plasma is seeking healthcare professionals to evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures under general supervision. You will interview donors, review medical histories, and determine eligibility to donate.

You will provide limited emergency medical care to donors and staff, administer medications as licensed, and escalate critical cases to the Center Physician. You will review test results and counsel donors on reactive findings.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one (1) year relevant experience in a health care environment.
• Experience in a plasma or whole blood collection center preferred.
• Ability to make and analyze a physical assessment of heart, lung sounds, signs of drug use, etc.
• If graduation is from a foreign allopathic or osteopathic medical school, must also currently be licensed as a physician or state certification as an emergency medical technician.
• For NY: current state licensure or certification as an RN, MD or DO in the state you are applying for work or in a reciprocal state.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures under general supervision.
• Provide limited emergency medical care to donors and staff, including administering medication or treatments as licensed.
• Interview donors and perform medical history reviews to determine suitability to donate plasma.
• Respond to medically related questions and provide information to staff on donor suitability.
• Review test results and determine continued donor suitability; assess donor symptoms affecting donation.
• Notify and counsel donors regarding reactive test results; refer to community facilities for follow-up.
• Provide routine care following SOPs; escalate critical medical situations to Center Physician or local medical service providers.
