Job summary

Owensboro Health Medical Group – Pediatrics Owensboro is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide direct patient care under the direction of a nurse, nurse practitioner, physician assistant, or physician. The role includes administering medications, observing for adverse reactions, and educating patients and families based on age and culture.

You will contribute to patient assessments, triage when needed, and support plan-of-care interventions in a fast-paced pediatric setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required upon hire.
• LPN license required upon hire; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 45 days of employment.
• Employment is governed by Nurse Practice Act and Kentucky state requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care under supervision of RN, NP, PA, or physician.
• Administers medications and monitors for adverse reactions.
• Assesses patients by collecting data for review.
• Educates patients and families based on age, culture, and learning needs.
• Triages patients and refers to physician or NP/PA if needed.
• Performs plan of care interventions and administrative tasks in support of the department.
