Licensed Practical Nurse - Pediatrics

Location: Leesburg, VA

Pay From: $23 per hour

MUST:

1. Experienced Licensed Practical Nurse/Registered Nurse
2. 2+ years of experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse/Registered Nurse
3. 2+ years of experience working in a physician's medical practice
4. 2+ years of experience with vaccines/injections and phlebotomy
5. Experience working in pediatrics strongly preferred
6. Ability to undertake diverse care tasks and work in a multidisciplinary team
7. Familiarity with safety and sanitation standards and procedures
8. Understanding of confidentiality obligations and nursing best practices
9. Excellent knowledge of medical and hospital terminology
10. Good knowledge of MS Office and EMR ECW experience
11. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
12. Compassionate and able to handle stress
13. Active VA license as a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse

DUTIES:

1. Perform nursing procedures under supervision of physician or physician assistant
2. Assist physician and physician assistant in exam rooms
3. Document medical histories and symptoms in patients' charts daily
4. Take vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, heart rate, etc.)
5. Administer medicines, treatments, and vaccinations
6. Collect samples for lab testing as assigned
7. Provide emotional and psychological support when needed
8. Escort patients, interview patients, measure vital signs, and document all information
9. Give instructions to patients as directed by physicians or physician assistants
10. Ensure all reports, labs, and related information are filed and available prior to appointments
11. Maintain exam rooms with supplies, instruments, and sterilization
12. Manage telephone messages and provide feedback to patients, physicians, and pharmacies
13. Process messages from patients and staff to physicians and physician assistants
14. Maintain logs and checks (e.g., refrigerator temperatures, medications, oxygen, sterilization fluids)
15. Perform other duties as assigned by clinical coordinator or practice administrator
