Licensed Practical Nurse - Pediatrics
Location: Leesburg, VA
Pay From: $23 per hour
MUST:
- Experienced Licensed Practical Nurse/Registered Nurse
- 2+ years of experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse/Registered Nurse
- 2+ years of experience working in a physician's medical practice
- 2+ years of experience with vaccines/injections and phlebotomy
- Experience working in pediatrics strongly preferred
- Ability to undertake diverse care tasks and work in a multidisciplinary team
- Familiarity with safety and sanitation standards and procedures
- Understanding of confidentiality obligations and nursing best practices
- Excellent knowledge of medical and hospital terminology
- Good knowledge of MS Office and EMR ECW experience
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Compassionate and able to handle stress
- Active VA license as a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse
DUTIES:
- Perform nursing procedures under supervision of physician or physician assistant
- Assist physician and physician assistant in exam rooms
- Document medical histories and symptoms in patients' charts daily
- Take vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, heart rate, etc.)
- Administer medicines, treatments, and vaccinations
- Collect samples for lab testing as assigned
- Provide emotional and psychological support when needed
- Escort patients, interview patients, measure vital signs, and document all information
- Give instructions to patients as directed by physicians or physician assistants
- Ensure all reports, labs, and related information are filed and available prior to appointments
- Maintain exam rooms with supplies, instruments, and sterilization
- Manage telephone messages and provide feedback to patients, physicians, and pharmacies
- Process messages from patients and staff to physicians and physician assistants
- Maintain logs and checks (e.g., refrigerator temperatures, medications, oxygen, sterilization fluids)
- Perform other duties as assigned by clinical coordinator or practice administrator
