Job summary

Arnot Health in upstate New York is seeking a licensed Practical Nurse to serve as a caregiver for a group of patients under the supervision of a registered nurse. The position reports to the Director of the assigned department and emphasizes compassionate, patient-centered care.

Required credentials include graduation from an approved Practical Nursing program and New York licensure; BLS within 90 days, ACLS for critical care units.

MAIN FUNCTION:

A caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of patients under the supervision/direction of a registered nurse. Reports to the Director of Department to which assigned.

EDUCATION:

Graduate of a Practical Nursing Program registered by the New York State Education or by the licensing authority of another state.

CARDIOPULMONARY RESUSCITATION (CPR) REQUIREMENTS:

Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 90 days of hire date. Advance Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is required in critical care units.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Appreciable physical effort required. Moving, lifting and assisting patients whose size and physical abilities can vary greatly. Some lifting, reaching and stooping. Required to be on feet much of the time.

Pay Range Disclosure:

• Standard Rate of $24.15 to $35.00 per hour plus benefits
