Job summary

Recovery Innovations in Peoria, AZ, seeks a Licensed Practical Nurse for night shifts (7:00pm–7:30am, Sun Tue, plus every other Wed). The role works within a crisis recovery center, reporting to an RN and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

You will document care, monitor medications, and help coordinate patient services. We require an accredited LPN program graduate with an active LPN license and at least 1 year in behavioral health.

Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited LPN program.
  • Current and valid LPN license.
  • Minimum of one year in a behavioral health setting.
  • Knowledge of psychiatric medications and their indications.

Responsibilities

  • Guest care and advocacy, including education on diabetic care and psychiatric medications.
  • Coordinate care and assist with provider appointments as needed.
  • Monitor medications under RN supervision and maintain medication records.
  • Complete clinical documentation and comply with state and policy requirements.
  • Support cross-functional teams and participate in treatment/discharge planning.

Salary/Hourly Wage:$32.00 -$34.00/hour

Summary of Job: The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) position works under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) and as part of a multi-disciplinary clinical team. TheLPN position also identifies the need for medical attention and alerts the Physician and/or RN of medical concerns.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Guest Care & Advocacy:
    • Provides education regarding diabetic care, psychiatric medication and other medical needs to enhance individual health and wellbeing.
    • Coordinates care including assisting individuals with making medical and/or other Provider appointments as needed.
  • Compliance & Risk Management:
    • Assists with intake process.
    • Collects blood or urine specimens and arranges transport to lab as ordered.
    • Monitors care of individuals to include monitoring of medications under the supervision of the RN.
    • Oversees and maintains medication records in accordance with policy and State Regulations.
    • Completes clinical documentation as required.
    • Keeps abreast of all federal and state regulations and laws and all Recovery Innovations policies and procedures as they presently exist and as they change or are modified.
    • Understands and adheres to Recovery Innovations compliance standards as they appear in the Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policies.
  • Cross Functional Collaboration:
    • Provides support to Medical Assistants and other staff as needed, which includes treatment and discharge planning.
  • Additional Duties:
    • Performs other related duties assigned.

  • Education/Licenses:
    • Graduation from an accredited LPN program.
    • Current and valid LPN license.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of one (1) year of experience working in a behavioral health setting.
    • Thorough comprehension of psychiatric nursing preferred.
    • Knowledge of psychiatric medications and their indications, common side effects, reactions and interactions of medications prescribed.
    • Ability to work with agitated guest in crisis and their families to implement behavioral management interventions.
  • Skills:
    • Basic computer skills.
    • Ability to pay close attention to detail.
    • Ability to problem solve.
    • Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.
    • Effective listening skills.
    • Excellent clinical documentation skills.
    • Must be able to pass de-escalation training, as defined by state requirements.
  • Driving Requirements:
    • If driving is required for this position, must meet all requirements outlined in Recovery Innovations driving policy.
    • If not qualified to drive per driving policy, a Non-Driver Attestation form must be signed.
  • Must be at least 18 years old unless residing in a state where funder or government regulations set a different minimum age requirement.
  • Travel required based on business need.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality (HIPAA guidelines and regulations) and professionalism.
  • Successful complete and meet all requirements of the comprehensive credentialing process if applicable.

Physical Demands

May include work close to the eyes and substantial motions of the wrist, hands, and/or fingers. Frequent sitting, standing, walking, handling, finger dexterity; eye-hand-foot coordination, use of corrected vision; color vision; use of auditory senses. May be required to lift up to twenty-five (25) pounds.

May work in an office environment or behavioral health facility. May have contact with individuals who are agitated and/or confused.
