Ingleside at Rock Creek in Washington, DC is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse for the Memory Support Unit on a part-time schedule. You will provide direct and indirect patient care under supervision of a RN/physician, aligning with Ingleside policies and standards.

The role requires a valid DC LPN license, CPR training, and fluent English with strong communication and teamwork abilities in a memory care environment.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provides resident care including treatment, medication, and diagnostics as delegated by Nurse Manager or physician.
• Informs Nurse Manager of concerns and obtains approval for corrective action.
• Completes nursing reports and distributes them within required timeframes.
• Transcribes orders to the resident's chart on the day of admission and coordinates with Delegating Nurse.
• Delegates care tasks to CNAs and ensures proper documentation.
• Maintains confidentiality and professional conduct at all times.
• Demonstrates teamwork and courteous behavior with residents and staff.

Shift Available: Part-time 7am-3:30pm and 11pm-7:30am to include every other weekend!

Wage Rate: starting at $35.20 per hour, commensurate with experience! Differentials available for evening and night shifts and weekends

Job Summary

Under supervision of a Registered Nurse and or Physician and in collaboration with other team members, provides direct and indirect patient care in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act, professional standards of care, state regulations and accreditation standards and Ingleside philosophy, policies, and procedures.

Job Requirements

Current, valid license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the District of Columbia required. Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation training required. Regular attendance is required. Attends all in-service education programs mandated by federal, state, and company guidelines. Must be able to read, write and speak fluent English. Must demonstrate effective communication skills with staff, residents and the public. Demonstrates ability to develop and maintain good interpersonal relations with staff and residents. Must demonstrate use of mature judgment and demonstrate excellent problem solving skills and ability. Must be able to work under stress when confronted with critical or unusual situations. Able to handle job responsibilities in a positive, professional manner.

Key Responsibilities

• Provides resident care in the form of treatment, medication, and diagnostic procedures as delegated by the Nurse Manager or designate physician
• Initiates corrective action to resident care if assigned resident shows no sign of improvement. Informs the Nurse Manager of concerns or issues of the resident care and obtains approval for corrective action to be taken.
• Completes and distributes nursing reports to the Nurse Manager and the designate physician within the given time requirement.
• Obtains any residents follow up report from current shift nurse and records sufficient information. Reports any necessary changes and/or follow up actions necessary to Nurse manager.
• Provides upcoming shift nurses with the obtained resident report and any follow up or special care necessary. Documents in daily open charting any orders given to nurses or assistants in regards to care of resident.
• Performs review of charts and resident information with all new admissions to the Assisted Living neighborhood.
• Transcribes all medication and treatment orders to resident's chart within the same day of admission. Sends to Delegating Nurse to sign off on all listed information.
• Verifies all orders with the Nurse Manager and/or current physician before placing order with the designated pharmacy.
• Ensures cross-training is provided to shift employees as needed and appropriate.
• Identifies unacceptable performance and behavior exhibited by employees and takes appropriate action; utilizes progressive discipline policy when appropriate and maintains documentation as required.
• Delegates care tasks to all CNA's based on qualification and competency of the CNA. Follows up with the CNA to ensure proper care and documentation has been provided.
• Maintains resident confidentiality and privacy at all times according to policies and procedures; uses discretion when discussing confidential matters.
• Demonstrates courteous and cooperative behavior with residents, families, co-workers, subordinates, supervisors, and other department staff.
