Job summary

Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center in Williamsburg, VA is seeking an Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join the Telemetry Unit. The role provides direct patient care under the supervision of an RN, supports acute and chronic patients, and collaborates with physicians and other clinicians.

You will work 36 hours weekly, with 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM shifts, and be eligible for an $8,000 sign-on bonus plus relocation assistance.

Qualifications

  • LPN license in state of practice.
  • BLS within 90 days of hire.
  • Trade School Graduate - Licensed Practical Nurse.
  • Previous hospital experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care under RN or LIP supervision.
  • Perform testing and administration of medications as prescribed.

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) functions under the supervision of an RN or Licensed Independent Practitioner (LIP) in the clinical setting, within the scope of practice dictated by the State Boards of Nursing. The LPN demonstrates professional and clinical knowledge relative to designated clinical practice setting in the delivery of direct patient care, adhering to the level of verified competency dictated by the site specific program. The LPN works as part of a multi-disciplinary team to support and communicate effectively with other licensed independent practitioners (Physicians, NP, PA) in collaboration while providing care and treatment for patients, clinical support and teaching for patient and family members, and adheres to the legal and ethical standards of nursing practice. LPN manages responsibilities of workload with accuracy, provides excellence in customer service, performs testing, medication administration and the implementation of nursing interventions and care plans to support a holistic approach to patient care. The LPN serves as patient advocate in the prevention of illness or disease. The work of the LPN may be performed in hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, outpatient clinics, or private homes. Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 days of hire. A valid LPN license in state(s) of practice is required. In the Emergency Department/Ambulatory, we have a family atmosphere amongst our team. We meet in a fast-paced environment with high energy and positivity. We treat patients of all ages, from pediatric to geriatric and we utilize ED Techs to assist with supportive duties.

Unit Description: The Medicine Telemetry Unit - is looking for qualified nurses who will provide care to acute and chronic care patients with a variety of comorbidities from the age of 18 years of age and up,. We are looking for LPNs, who are compassionate, dependable, flexible and hardworking looking to advance your career in nursing.

Compensation

The base pay range for full-time employment is $28.57 - $43.04 hourly. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs.
