Job summary

Mercy Hospital Springfield - Medical 6B is seeking an LPN for a part-time night shift (Nights - 1830 to 0700) in a pulmonary/respiratory care unit. The role focuses on providing focused nursing care, patient education, and coordinated care to support recovery.

The position requires graduation from an accredited practical nursing program and Missouri LPN licensure, with opportunities for tuition reimbursement and relocation assistance.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program; licensure as an LPN in Missouri required or eligibility.
• Stand/walk most of the shift; readiness for lifting/pushing up to 50 pounds.
• New graduates welcomed; LPN licensure required or in progress with MO requirements.

Mercy Hospital 6B is a medical floor specializing in the care of patients with pulmonary and respiratory conditions, including COPD, pneumonia, asthma, and other lung-related illnesses. The team provides focused treatment, respiratory support, patient education, and coordinated care to promote recovery and improve breathing health.

Overview:

Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care. Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients. Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers. Coordinates the patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program; Consideration will be given for comparable education experience and successful licensure.
• Physical Requirements/Demands: Stand/Walk most of the time on duty; significant amount of bending and stooping, as well as lifting and turning patients with assistance; push/pull/grip up to 50 pounds.
• Experience: Can be new or experienced LPN.
• Certifications: Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire. LPN-IV Certification must be previously completed or successful completion of course within 3 months of hire for LPNs in Missouri.
• Licensure: Is personally responsible for obtaining and maintaining a current LPN license within the hiring state in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all State Board of Nursing requirements.
