Job summary

Onyx Care of Bernice seeks a Licensed Practical Nurse Unit Manager to lead day-to-day nursing assistant activities and coordinate shift services at the Bernice facility in Louisiana.

You will direct staff, report on shift activities, and oversee admissions, discharges, and medication administration while maintaining interdepartmental collaboration and resident confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Must hold a current Louisiana Nursing License (required).
• CPR certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct the day-to-day functions of the nursing assistants and plan the shift’s services and activities.
• Prepare written and oral reports on shift activities; admit, transfer, and discharge residents; provide leadership to unit staff.
• Ensure safe administration of medications as ordered by the physician.
• Develop and maintain good working rapport with inter-departmental personnel to ensure continuation of quality care.
• Monitor safety regulations in the use of equipment and supplies by assigned personnel.
• Maintain confidentiality of all resident care information.

Responsibilities for Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN):

• Direct the day-to-day functions of the nursing assistants. Meet with your assigned nursing staff, as well as support personnel, in planning the shift’s services, programs and activities.
• Make written & oral reports/recommendations concerning the activities of the shift as required. Admit, transfer and discharge residents as required. Provide leadership to nursing personnel assigned to your unit/shift.
• Prepare & administer medications as ordered by the physician.
• Develop & maintain a good working rapport with inter-departmental personnel, as well as other departments within the facility to ensure that nursing services and activities can be adequately maintained to meet the needs of the residents.
• Monitor your assigned personnel to ensure that they are following established safety regulations in the use of equipment and supplies.
• Maintain confidentiality of all resident care information including protected health information.

Qualifications for Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN):

• Current Louisiana Nursing License (Required)
• Current CPR certification (Preferred)
