Overview

We are seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in our Telemetry Unit.

Shift’s Available: Days

Employment Type: Part-Time

Hours: 7:00am-7:00pm (12-hour shifts)

Location: Providence Medical Center in Kansas City, KS

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):

  • Maintains accurate collection of specimens with appropriate patient labels before sending to the Lab.
  • Uses two different patient identifiers consistently when drawing lab, administering medications or performing any procedure on a patient.
  • Follows all medication policies including the medication reconciliation policy consistently.
  • Establishes priorities of patient care based on essential needs and available resources of time, equipment, personnel and supplies.
  • Demonstrates understanding of the roles and functions of other members of the interdisciplinary treatment team.
  • Collaborates with other members of the health team and manages unit issues and/or concerns effectively at the lowest level possible.

Qualifications

Education and Work Experience

  • Current and valid state license
  • Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
  • IV certification upon hire (state specific)
