The Hyde Park Central School District in New York seeks a dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join its student health team for a full-time 10-month role aligned with the school calendar. The LPN will support the elementary health office and provide 1:1 care, medication administration, and health monitoring.

Qualifying candidates hold a NYS LPN license, CPR/First Aid, and have strong communication and confidentiality. Experience in school nursing or pediatrics is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as liaison between families and community health resources.
• Support health screenings and contribute to a safe, healthy school environment.

The Hyde Park Central School District is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our student health team. This is a full-time 10 month position aligned with the school calendar. The LPN will support the elementary health office and provide 1:1 student support for a student requiring individualized care. The LPN will provide individualized nursing support for a student within the district, as well as general care.

Qualifications & Experience Required:

• Current New York State LPN License
• Current CPR and First Aid certification
• School nursing or pediatric experience preferred
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
• Commitment to confidentiality and professionalism

1:1 Care:

• Experience providing 1:1 nursing services in a school or pediatric setting
• Demonstrated expertise in caring for children with Epilepsy
• Competency and experience in tube feeding administration and monitoring
• Ability to respond swiftly to medical emergencies and communicate effectively with school staff and the student’s family
• Discretion and professionalism in managing confidential health information
  General Student Care:
• Provide direct nursing care to students throughout the school day
• Support and assist with routine health screenings
• Maintain accurate and confidential student health records, documenting all care, observations, and communications
• Serve as a liaison between families and community health resources
• Alert families to health concerns and connect them with appropriate interventions
• Support daily management of student health needs including medication administration, symptom monitoring, and ongoing parent communication
• Promote a safe, healthy school environment and ease parental anxiety through consistent, high-quality nursing care
