Job summary

Memorial Physician Practices is looking for a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide direct patient care in Lancaster, PA. You will work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and be responsible for administering medications, managing patient assessments, and implementing care plans.

Licensed Practical Nurse - LPN

Job Type: Full Time | Nights

Schedule: 3x12, Nights (6:30p-7a)

What you'll contribute

A Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) who excel in this role provides direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, delivering treatments, assisting in assessments, and supporting interdisciplinary care planning in accordance with the patient's needs.

Essential Functions
  • Administer medications safely, accurately, and based on patient age and clinical condition.
  • Minimize potential for medication errors by following proper medication administration procedures.
  • Assist the RN with initial assessments and patient reassessments per policy.
  • Identify and implement appropriate rehabilitation nursing interventions.
  • Perform timely and accurate Quality Improvement (QI) assessments under RN supervision.
  • Deliver care based on patient response to treatment and update the interdisciplinary plan accordingly.
  • Assess and reassess pain; use appropriate pain management techniques and educate patients and families.
  • Perform all patient care tasks in a manner that promotes patient safety and reduces medical errors.
  • Develop and implement individualized teaching plans based on patient and family learning needs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What we're looking for

Applicants should have a current Pennsylvania LPN license and be a graduate of an accredited Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse program. Additional requirements include:

  • CPR/BCLS certification required.
  • Minimum six months of Medical/Surgical experience in an acute care setting preferred.
  • IV Certification is highly preferred or must be obtained within 6 months.
