Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - PRN-A - Williamsburg, VA

Join Riverside Health as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - PRN-A - Williamsburg, VA.

Overview

Works under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, Nurse Manager, or Nursing Supervisor, and is ultimately responsible to the Director of Nursing or Assistant Director of Nursing and Director of Quality Care Management. The LPN participates in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care, providing emotional, physical comfort, and safety for residents and their families. Assists in supervising auxiliary personnel.

Responsibilities
  • Administer medications and treatments accurately according to provider’s orders.
  • Respect resident choices within safety and dignity considerations, adhering to facility policies on privacy and dignity.
  • Assign duties to non-professional staff (e.g., CNAs) based on education, training, policy, and resident needs to ensure quality care. Engage team members for optimal performance and address performance issues as needed.
  • Contribute to the development and modification of individual service plans. Identify changes in condition with proper documentation and demonstrate consistent follow-through for positive resident outcomes.
Qualifications

Experience: 1 year LPN nursing experience required.

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - Virginia Department of Health Professions (VDHP), required upon hire.
  • CPR/BLS Certification - American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or American Safety and Health Institute, within 30 days of hire.
Other Requirements
  • Weekend shifts available.
