Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - PRN-A - Williamsburg, VA

Overview

Works under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, Nurse Manager, or Nursing Supervisor, and is ultimately responsible to the Director of Nursing or Assistant Director of Nursing and Director of Quality Care Management. The LPN participates in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care, providing emotional, physical comfort, and safety for residents and their families. Assists in supervising auxiliary personnel.

What You Will Do

1. Administer medications and treatments accurately according to provider’s orders.
2. Respect resident choices within safety and dignity considerations, following facility policies on privacy and dignity.
3. Assign duties to non-professional staff such as CNAs based on education, training, policies, and resident needs to ensure quality care. Engage team members and address performance as needed.
4. Contribute to developing, maintaining, or modifying individual service plans. Identify changes in condition with proper documentation, demonstrating good judgment and skills for positive resident outcomes.

Qualifications

Experience

• Minimum of 1 year LPN nursing experience (Required)

Licenses and Certifications

• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - Virginia Department of Health Professions (VDHP) upon hire (Required)
• CPR/BLS Certification - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) - within 30 days (Required)

Other Requirements

• Weekend shifts required

PRN-a LPNs are scheduled to work 4 shifts in a 4-week period, including 2 weekends.
