Roxbury Treatment Center in Shippensburg, PA, part of Universal Health Services (UHS), seeks per diem LPNs to support behavioral health care with flexible 12-hour shifts. The role emphasizes professional nursing care, patient monitoring, and collaboration with the treatment team.

As an LPN, you will monitor patient conditions, assist with medications, provide patient education, and respond to crises to ensure safety.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited licensed practical nursing program.
• One year prior experience in D&A and/or mental health nursing preferred but not required.
• Licensure and registration by the Pennsylvania Board of Nurse Examiners as a licensed practical nurse.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care on a designated unit.
• Accountable for nursing care activities on a shift and promote professional practice under supervision.
• Monitors and documents patient condition and interventions, reporting findings to Charge Nurse/RN.
• Monitors care plans and participates in Treatment Team meetings.
• Provides supportive counseling and patient education.
• Facilitates medication administration in accordance with safe practices, including patient education.
• Responds to crisis/emergency events to direct staff and ensure patient safety.

LPN Role/Responsibilities:

• The Licensed Practical Nurse provides professional nursing care on a designated unit in a manner consistent with the philosophy and objectives of Roxbury Treatment Center.
• The Licensed Practical Nurse is accountable for assigned nursing care activities on a shift basis and is responsible for promoting and enhancing professional nursing practice on the unit under the direction of the Nurse Manager or DON.
• Monitors and documents patient condition and interventions provided reporting finding to the unit Charge Nurse/RN
• Monitors Nursing and Clinical Care plans and participates in Treatment Team meetings as necessary
• Provides supportive counseling and patient education
• The Licensed Practical Nurse facilitates medication administration activities in accordance with safe medication practices , including patient education
• The Licensed Practical Nurse responds to all crisis/emergency events to direct staff and ensure patient safety
