Job Summary

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is responsible for delivering patient care under the physician's direction. The LPN plays an integral role in the healthcare team, providing high-quality care by preparing and assessing patients for provider visits, observing, recording, and reporting patient responses during appointments.

Essential Functions

1. Collaborates with physicians and healthcare team members to meet patient and family needs.
2. Implements care plans by providing basic nursing care within the LPN scope of practice.
3. Labels and packages specimens appropriately, as trained.
4. Supports indirect care through clerical or administrative duties as assigned by the registered nurse.
5. Acts as a chaperone during patient examinations as requested.
6. Assists providers with procedures, treatments, and interventions.
7. Performs other duties as assigned.

Certifications

• Active state Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) licensure or LPN applicant.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.

Experience

• One year of clinical patient care experience preferred, but not required.

Skills & Abilities

• Knowledge and skills to provide appropriate care to patients of all ages.
• Ability to learn and operate computer-based patient scheduling and registration systems.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
