Job summary

Cascades at Riverwalk in Midvale, Utah, is seeking a licensed practical nurse to join our skilled nursing and rehabilitation community. You will administer medications, document care, and collaborate with physicians to support residents’ health and well-being.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• Current, active LPN license.
• CPR certification required.
• Experience in long-term geriatric care preferred.
• Must read, analyze and interpret English language materials.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, administer, and document medications, tests, and treatments.
• Record time spent performing treatments in EMR.
• Ensure proper storage and security of meds.
• Notify physician of refusals, non-compliance, adverse reactions.
• Maintain organized medication cart, refrigerator, and room.
• Dispose of sharps properly.
• Enter data into computer systems including EMR.
• Enforce infection control and safety policies.
• React appropriately to emergencies.
• Other duties as assigned.

Shift schedule: Thursday and Friday 6am - 6pm

What you'll do:

• Prepare, administer, and document medications, tests, and treatments
• Record time spent performing individual treatments, in accordance with ancillary services policy, on the medication/treatment record
• Ensure proper storage and security of prescription drugs and biologicals in accordance with facility policies and procedures
• Notify the physician of refusal of medication/treatments, non-compliance with a treatment plan, and resident response to medication regime with prompt notification to the physician of any adverse reactions
• Keep medication cart, refrigerator, and room neat, clean, and the medication stored properly
• Ensures the correct disposal of all sharps
• Key information into computer systems including EMR
• Practice, implement, and supervise Infection Control, Universal Precaution, and safety policies and procedures
• React appropriately to emergency and disaster situations
• Other duties as necessary and assigned

What we're looking for:

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
• Current, active license as an LPN
• Experience in long term geriatric nursing care, preferred
• Current CPR Certification
• Must be able to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical information in the English language
• Must be easily understood through verbal communication in the English language
• Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measurement and weight measurement
• Must have empathy along with exceptional communication and customer service skills
