Job summary

St. Elizabeth Healthcare is hiring an LPN for our Outpatient Wound Care Clinic in Fort Thomas, KY. The position is full-time (32 hours/week) with travel to Covington, Ft. Thomas, and Grant County sites; no evenings, weekends, or holidays.

You will provide wound care under RN/physician supervision, with potential HLPN duties for HBO therapy. Must hold an active KY LPN license and have wound care knowledge, with UHMS HBO training completed or available.

Qualifications

• Graduate from approved school of practical nursing and licensed to practice in the state where work is performed.
• UHMS HBO Team Training Course completed or able to complete as HLPN.
• Knowledgeable regarding basic wound care principles.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care under RN/physician supervision for multiple types of wounds.
• Possibly act as Hyperbaric LPN (HLPN) and operate HBO chamber under HBO physician/RN directions.

Travel to our Covington, Ft. Thomas, and Grant County clinic sites is required.

Job Description:

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides patient care under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) and/or licensed physician. Nurses in this position will provide assessment and care of multiple types of wounds as well as require knowledge with and application of advanced wound care therapies. This position may also act in the dual role of Hyperbaric LPN (HLPN). In addition to responsibilities of the Outpatient Wound Care LPN, the HLPN acts as the attendant and control operator of the hyperbaric oxygen (HBO) chamber under the direction of the HBO physician and HBO Registered Nurse.

Demonstrates respect, dignity, kindness and empathy in each encounter with all patients, families, visitors and other employees regardless of cultural background.

Qualifications

Education, Credentials, Licenses:

Graduate from approved school of practical nursing, licensed to practice nursing in the state where work is being performed.

As HLPN, able to complete or completion of Undersea Hyperbaric Medicine Society (UHMS) approved HBO Team Training Course.

Specialized Knowledge:

Knowledgeable regarding basic wound care principles and practices.

As HLPN, able to complete or completion of Undersea Hyperbaric Medicine Society (UHMS) approved HBO Team Training course.

Kind and Length of Experience:

Successful completion of preceptorship and orientation to the health system and clinical area.

Able to think critically and problem solve in clinical situations.

One year of current clinical nursing experience.
