Job Summary LPN
Responsible for providing direct patient care, ongoing education, and reinforcement of care plans, and providing general support in an ambulatory setting under the supervision of the patient’s physician or LIP/RN designee, in accordance with policy, procedure, and competency to promote patient health and wellness. This position requires serving all age populations, demonstrating an understanding of the functional/developmental age of the individuals served.

Job Summary MA
Medical Assistants provide clinical support, assist with administrative tasks, and support in an ambulatory setting under the supervision of the patient’s physician or LIP/RN designee, following established policies and procedures to promote patient health and wellness. Duties include patient care, vital signs, assisting licensed healthcare professionals, performing laboratory tests, quality control, and clinical intake. Service is provided to all age groups, with understanding of the developmental age of the individual.

Licensed Practical Nurse - Ambulatory
  • Assist the RN and/or provider with data collection regarding the physical, psychological, social, and cultural dimensions of patients, following practice standards and policies.
  • Organize and prioritize nursing care activities considering patient needs and interdisciplinary team input.
  • Implement age-appropriate interventions based on individual patient needs as directed by the RN/provider.
  • Assist in evaluating the effectiveness of care in progressing patients toward desired outcomes.
  • Provide ongoing education and reinforce care plans developed by the Provider/RN based on health and educational needs, condition, and age of the patient.
  • Ensure a safe environment and safe delivery of care.
  • Take responsibility for personal professional development and contribute to the development of others.
  • Demonstrate teamwork in patient care delivery.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.
Medical Assistant - Ambulatory
  • Support effective clinic operations through communication with team members, providers, and patients.
  • Assist with data collection, clinical intake, documentation, and support during examinations and procedures, including specimen collection, testing, sterilization, wound care, and medication administration.
  • Organize daily tasks to support patient needs and operational efficiency.
  • Implement interventions appropriate to the patient's age and needs as directed by the healthcare provider.
  • Reinforce patient/family education plans using approved materials.
  • Maintain a safe environment and proper supplies and equipment.
  • Document and charge for clinical services rendered.
  • Provide administrative support as needed, including scheduling, documentation, and communication tasks.
  • Work as part of a team, recognizing the importance of timely responses to urgent issues.
  • Take responsibility for ongoing professional development.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements for LPN
  • Graduation from an accredited LPN program.
  • Virginia licensure as an LPN prior to onboarding.
  • Current BLS certification from AHA.
Minimum Requirements for MA
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Current BLS certification from AHA.
  • Certification from a recognized national professional association (AAMA, AMT, NAHP, ARMA, or NHA); certification must be obtained within 6 months of hire.

Physical Demands for both roles include standing for prolonged periods, frequent travel, bending/stooping, and the ability to lift/push/pull 20-50 lbs. Exposure to chemicals, blood, body fluids, and infectious diseases is possible.
