NaphCare is hiring Licensed Practical Nurses to join our medical team in Grand Junction, Colorado, at the Mesa County Jail. We have a Part Time Weekend Days position with pay rates $36.00-$38.00 per hour plus a $6.00 night differential.

Qualifications

• Graduate from a Licensed Practical Nursing program.
• High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Actively state-certified as an LVN or LPN.
• Must possess an active BLS CPR Certification (American Heart Association).
• Maintain confidentiality of all proprietary information.
• Adhere to a Code of Conduct and facility policies and legal requirements.
• Must pass the facility’s background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient assessments and interview patients about health problems and medication history.
• Take vital signs including blood pressure, temperature, and weight.
• Provide wound care, including cleaning and bandaging.
• Administer medications and monitor reactions.
• Maintain medical records in the electronic health record TechCare.
• Observe patient and mental health status.
• Provide emergency first aid.
• Provide patient education and discharge planning.

NaphCare is hiring Licensed Practical Nurses to join our team of medical professionals in Grand Junction, Colorado , where we manage all aspects of healthcare for the individuals who are currently incarcerated in the Mesa County Jail . We currently have a Part Time Weekend Days position available!

• Our rates have recently been increased! Pay rates range from $36.00-$38.00 per hour plus a $6.00 shift differential for night shifts.*

As a Correctional Nurse, you will work alongside correctional officers and other medical professionals to provide care to the individuals in residence. Working within a controlled environment, where security is top priority and the days are never dull, you will have various duties to keep you engaged including performing physical assessments, administering medications, managing chronic illnesses, and responding to emergencies. This is a unique position where you can make a difference to this diverse population of patients with complex medical needs.

Responsibilities

• Performing patient assessments, interviewing patients about current health problems, medication history
• Taking vital signs including blood pressure, temperature, and weight
• Providing wound care, including cleaning and bandaging injured areas
• Administering medication, including injections of medications and monitoring reaction to meds
• Maintaining medical records, including entering information into our electronic health record, TechCare
• Observing patient health and mental health status
• Providing emergency first aid
• Providing patient education and discharge/release planning

Qualifications

• Graduate from a Licensed Practical Nursing program
• High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
• Actively state-certified as a Licensed Vocational Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse
• Must possess an active BLS CPR Certification (American Heart Association required)
• Able to maintain confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information
• Display integrity, professionalism and be able to adhere to a Code of Conduct and comply with all facility(s) correctional healthcare policies, procedures, and legal requirements
• Must pass the facility’s criminal background check and drug screening

Physical Capabilities

Must have the ability to stand for long periods, lift and move patients (up to 50 pounds), bend, squat, reach, push, pull, walk significant distances, and perform physically demanding tasks like CPR, all while maintaining good balance and endurance throughout a shift.
