Overview

NaphCare is partnering with Everhealth to hire an LPN or LVN to join our team of medical professionals in Spokane, WA, where we manage all aspects of healthcare for individuals currently incarcerated in the Spokane County Jail.

As a Correctional Nurse, you will work alongside correctional officers and other medical professionals to provide care to residents. Working within a controlled environment where security is a top priority, your duties will include performing physical assessments, administering medications, managing chronic illnesses, and responding to emergencies. This position offers a unique opportunity to make a difference for a diverse population with complex medical needs.

Responsibilities

As an LPN, you will play a critical role in providing quality healthcare that respects the rights, dignity, and health of our patients. Responsibilities include:

  • Performing patient assessments and interviewing about health problems and medication history
  • Taking vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, and weight
  • Providing wound care, including cleaning and bandaging injuries
  • Administering medications, including injections, and monitoring reactions
  • Maintaining medical records in our electronic health record system, TechCare
  • Observing patient health and mental health status
  • Providing emergency first aid
  • Providing patient education and discharge planning
Qualifications

Education / Licenses / Certifications / Requirements

  • Graduate from a Licensed Practical Nursing program
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Active certification as a Licensed Vocational Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse
  • CPR certification
  • Pass criminal background check and drug screening

Experience / Skills

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Integrity, professionalism, and adherence to facility policies and legal requirements

Physical Capabilities:

Must be able to stand for long periods, lift/move patients (up to 50 pounds), bend, squat, reach, push, pull, walk significant distances, and perform tasks like CPR with good endurance and balance.
