NaphCare is hiring a strong Licensed Practical Nurse or Vocational Nurse to join our team of medical professionals in Cincinnati, OH, where we manage all aspects of healthcare for the individuals who are currently incarcerated in the Hamilton County Justice Center.

As a Correctional LPN, you will work alongside correctional officers and other medical professionals to provide care to the individuals in residence. Working within a controlled environment, where security is top priority and the days are never dull, you will have various duties including performing physical assessments, administering medications, managing chronic illnesses, and responding to emergencies. This position offers a chance to make a meaningful difference in a diverse population with complex medical needs.

Responsibilities

As an LPN, you will play a critical role in our mission to provide quality healthcare that protects the rights, dignity, and health of our patients. Your duties may include:

  • Performing patient assessments and interviewing patients about health problems and medication history
  • Taking vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, and weight
  • Providing wound care, including cleaning and bandaging injuries
  • Administering medications and monitoring reactions
  • Maintaining medical records in our electronic health record system, TechCare
  • Monitoring patient health and mental health status
  • Providing emergency first aid
  • Providing patient education and discharge planning
Qualifications

New graduates are encouraged to apply! Requirements include:

  • Graduation from a Licensed Practical Nursing program
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Active state certification as a Licensed Practical or Vocational Nurse
  • CPR certification
  • Ability to pass criminal background check and drug screening
Skills and Physical Capabilities

Must maintain confidentiality, adhere to professional and legal standards, and be physically capable of standing for long periods, lifting up to 50 pounds, performing CPR, and other physically demanding tasks.
