Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to support Occupational Health at the St. Charles Medical Office Building. You will deliver patient care under physician direction and help prepare patients for visits, documenting responses to care.

The role requires collaboration with the health care team, adherence to LPN scope, specimen handling, and occasional clerical tasks to support operations. An LPN license and BLS are required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an accredited LPN program.
• Active state LPN licensure and BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with physicians and health care team members to meet patient/family needs.
• Implements the plan of care with direct basic nursing care within LPN scope.
• Labels and packages specimens as trained.
• Assists in indirect care through clerical or administrative duties as assigned.
• Acts as chaperone for health care providers during patient examination as requested.
• Assists with procedures, treatments, and interventions.
• Other duties as assigned.

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - Occupational Health - St. Charles Medical Office Building

Job Summary

The Occupational Health LPN is responsible for the delivery of patient care under the direction of the Physician. The LPN functions as an integral part of the health care team to provide the highest quality of care to the patient by preparing and assessing patients for provider visits. In this position, the LPN will observe, record, and report patient responses to medical care provided during appointments.

Essential Functions

• Collaborates with physicians and other health care team members in meeting patient/family needs
• Implements the plan of care by providing direct basic nursing care in accordance with the LPN scope of practice
• Appropriately labels and packages specimens, as trained
• Assists in providing indirect care through various clerical or administrative duties as assigned by the registered nurse
• Acts as a chaperone for health care providers during patient examination as requested
• Assists provider with procedures, treatments, and interventions
• Other duties as assigned

Education

• High School Degree or GED
• Completion of an accredited LPN Program

Certifications

• Active state Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) licensure
• Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association

Experience

• 1 year of work experience in an Occupational Health setting (preferred, not required)

• Excellent teamwork skills displayed through experience collaborating with other nurses and doctors to improve patient and family education programs
