Qualifications:

Must have current and active license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in Illinois.

Job Overview:

The primary purpose of the LPN is to provide quality nursing care to residents and supervise daily nursing functions performed by Certified Nursing Assistants. The LPN coordinates all aspects of resident care with other disciplines, adhering to Federal and State regulations.

Job Duties:
  • Prepare and administer medication as ordered by the physician.
  • Review medication orders for completeness and accuracy.
  • Transcribe physician orders.
  • Document resident information, notify physicians and families as needed.
  • Assist in Admission/Discharge processes.
  • Complete accident/incident reports and follow-up investigations.
  • Participate in care planning and conferences, updating as needed.
  • Maintain good rapport with all disciplines to meet resident needs.
  • Deal tactfully with personnel, residents, families, visitors, and agencies.
  • Participate in continuing education programs.
