Responsibilities
At Cedarbrook Senior Living, we are dedicated to "Celebrating Life Every Day!" by fulfilling the goals of our residents and their families. Our Nurses are responsible for:
- Participating in pre-admissions assessments for potential residents.
- Implementing fire safety and disaster preparedness plans, including evacuation procedures during drills and emergencies.
- Performing admission and periodic reviews on residents for functional and mental abilities.
- Reviewing and revising assessments and care plans at admission, regulation intervals, and upon changes in residents' conditions.
- Assisting residents with scheduling medical, dental, and laboratory appointments.
- Assisting physicians during resident examinations as needed.
- Reviewing and transcribing physician's orders accurately.
- Administering and documenting medications following the five rights: medication, route, resident, time, and dose.
- Providing medical treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Supervising and monitoring residents who self-administer medications.
- Observing residents and reporting condition changes to physicians, proxies, and supervisors.
- Maintaining harmonious relations and communicating effectively with family, visitors, and the healthcare team.
- Understanding and respecting residents' Advance Directives and wishes.
- Assisting residents with nutritional and hydration needs and documenting appropriately.
- Monitoring meal times and assisting with feeding as needed.
- Ensuring a safe, clean, and homelike environment for residents.
- Responding promptly to residents' call lights.
- Planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care during the shift.
- Maintaining confidentiality of residents' private health information.
- Responding to emergency calls from independent living areas per community policy.
- Participating in risk management and quality assurance programs for the community.
Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
- Current nursing license in Michigan.
- Current CPR certification.
