Job summary

Beacon Children's Hospital of Luverne is seeking night LPNs to improve the lives of children and adolescents with mental health needs. You will provide essential nursing care, build therapeutic relationships, and ensure safe medication administration for residents in a behavioral health setting.

Responsibilities include de-escalation when needed, collaboration with physicians, and teaching life skills. Alabama LPN license (or eligible compact), CPR, and 1 year of relevant experience are

Qualifications

• Active LPN license in Alabama or eligible compact license.
• Prefer one-year direct care experience in behavioral health.
• CPR certification required.

The Licensed Practical Nurse responsibilities include the following:

• Provides general nursing care as required
• Develops a therapeutic relationship with patients.
• Distribute medication as prescribed and properly maintain the MARS.
• Establish and maintain professional contact with the patient's physician and in planning the patient's care.
• Intervene appropriately to de-escalate residents as needed. Providing quality and excellent nursing care to assigned behavioral health children and adolescents.
• Model and teach appropriate life skills to the patients.

Qualified Candidates for Licensed Practical Nurses should have the following:

• Active Licensed Practical Nurse License in the State of Alabama or eligible compact license
• Prefer one-year direct care experience in a behavioral health setting.
• Must be CPR Certified
