Job summary

UnityPoint Health's Internal Medicine team at Methodist Hospital in Des Moines is seeking a compassionate LPN to join our busy clinic. You will room patients, document vitals, assist providers, and educate patients on medications and chronic disease management.

This role involves using Epic, coordinating referrals and testing, and delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted LPN license in the state of Iowa.
• Clinic/ambulatory or internal medicine experience preferred.
• Strong communication, organization, and multitasking skills in a fast-paced clinical environment.
• Experience with Epic electronic health records is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Room patients, obtain medical histories, record vital signs, and accurately document information in the electronic health record (Epic)
• Assist providers with examinations, procedures, and treatments
• Administer medications, injections, immunizations, and other treatments within the LPN scope of practice
• Provide patient education on medications, chronic disease management, preventive care, and follow-up instructions
• Coordinate referrals, diagnostic testing, prescription refills, and continuity of care
• Respond to patient phone calls, messages, and clinical questions while collaborating with the care team
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized clinical environment while supporting quality patient care
