Job summary

Workfit Staffing is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse for a travel assignment with opportunities in Auburn, Buffalo, Rochester, Clifton Springs and Geneva, NY. Travel radius rules apply (50–75 miles) depending on the assignment.

The LPN will provide direct patient care under the supervision of an RN on a 39-bed Medical-Surgical unit, coordinating care, administering medications, documenting and communicating with the team.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited School of Practical Nursing or equivalent.
• Current licensure in State of New York as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
• At least 6 months LPN experience preferred.
• BLS certification (AHA)

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under the direction of an RN.
• Administer medications and report per protocol.
• Document patient information in the medical record system.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary team and supervise assigned staff if applicable.

Job description

The below opportunity is a travel assignment that has opportunities in Auburn, Buffalo, Rochester, Clifton Springs, and Geneva, NY. Depending on the travel assignment you are interested in, there will be a radius rule that must be meet to qualify, which can be between 50 to 75 miles.

Workfit Staffing is looking for a Licensed Practical Nurse to be responsible for providing direct patient care, usually under the direction of a Registered Nurse, in accordance with established plans. The Licensed Practical Nurse is a key member of the care delivery team. The Licensed Practical Nurse communicates the needs of the patient and the team; collaborates with the multidisciplinary team, takes direction from the RN and delegates appropriately to the other members of the team.

The Complex Care Medical-Surgical Unitis a 39-bed acute medical telemetry unit caring for a wide range of patients, including those with medical-surgical needs, orthopedic overflow, and ED holds. The unit supports both medically complex patients and those preparing for safe discharge. This unit is a great fit for nurses who thrive in fast-paced, high-acuity settings that require strong clinical judgment and collaboration.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Patient Care & Service - Promote and restore patients' health by completing the nursing process; collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary team members; perform various treatment procedures; provide physical, educational and emotional support to patients, friends and families; supervise assigned team members.
• Medication Administration & Reporting - Administer medication and give/receive relevant reports, both written and verbal from/to appropriate staff as per departmental protocols.
• Documentation - Ensure concise, pertinent and complete documentation using computerized medical record process.
• Preparation - Ensure clinical areas are properly supplied and exam rooms are available and stocked.

Qualifications:

• Graduate from an accredited School of Practical Nursing or equivalent required.
• Current licensure in State of New York as a Licensed Practical Nurse.

• Strong communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills highly desired.
• At least 6 months LPN experience preferred

• BLS - Basic Life Support - American Heart Association (AHA)

Pay Rate: $30.00 to $35.00 an hour.
Shift: All Shifts Available
