The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) collects patient/family information that assists the Registered Nurse in assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The LPN provides safe, effective care for assigned patients with the supervision of a Registered Nurse.

Required Certifications: Licensed Practical Nurse - Arkansas State Board of Nursing (ASBN)

Responsibilities include:

• Collecting patient/family data to identify clinical, educational, psychosocial, and cultural needs and communicating observations to the health team.
• Contributing to the patient plan of care based on identified needs and recognizing when to involve other health team members.
• Planning, prioritizing, and organizing patient care tasks efficiently.
• Completing routine patient care tasks and medication administration safely and timely, intervening in emergencies when necessary.
• Individualizing nursing interventions and modifying them as patient or family needs change.
• Reassessing and modifying the patient plan of care in collaboration with the RN.
• Performing other duties as assigned.
