Job summary

MedHealth is seeking a dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join the Yamhill County Jail care team in McMinnville, OR. You will work under RNs and physicians to deliver high-quality patient care within a correctional setting, following established policies and procedures.

This full-time night-shift role includes a $500 sign-on bonus and night/weekend differentials. You will document care, support patient education, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team while maintaining infection

Qualifications

• BLS for healthcare providers (American Red Cross or American Heart Association).
• One year of LPN experience preferred.
• Corrections experience highly desired.
• Strong documentation and organization skills required.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Monitor and record vital signs (BP, pulse, temperature).
• Assist with patient assessments and document changes.
• Collaborate with healthcare team to develop care plans.
• Maintain a clean, safe environment per infection control protocols.
• Educate patients about conditions, treatments, and self-care.
• Ensure accurate documentation of patient encounters.
• Work collaboratively and independently within a multidisciplinary team.
• Provide primary or critical care services as needed.
• Follow county policies and MedHealth procedures for security and patient contact.
• Document all patient encounters per MedHealth policies and guidelines.
• Communicate needs for special housing to medical and security staff.
• Perform other duties as necessary.

Responsibilities:

• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers.
• Monitor and record vital signs, including blood pressure, heart rate, and temperature.
• Assist with patient assessments and document changes in patient conditions.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients, adhering to infection control protocols.
• Educate patients about health conditions, treatment plans, and self-care techniques.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation and patient care.
• Ability to work collaboratively and independently within a multidisciplinary team environment.
• Provide primary care or critical care services as needed.
• Follows all County Policies and Procedures with regard to security and patient contact.
• Delivers care in accordance with established MedHealth Policies and Procedures.
• Thoroughly documents all patient encounters in electronic or paper medical records in accordance with MedHealth Policies and Procedures, and within state, local, federal guidelines.
• Communicates the need for special housing to appropriate medical and security personnel.
• Other duties as necessary.

Qualifications:

• Valid, unrestricted LPN license in the state of Oregon
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare providers through American Red Cross or American Heart Association
• One (1) year of LPN experience - preferred
• Corrections experience - highly desired

Shift Details:

• Full-Time, Night Shift (shift differentials for night & weekend shifts - not stacked)
• Night Differential: $2
• Weekend Differential: $1.50
