Job summary

Park Place of Elmhurst in Elmhurst, IL is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for full-time day shift (9:00 AM – 5:30 PM) to provide resident and nursing care according to physicians’ orders and established nursing standards. You will maintain accurate records, administer medications, educate residents and families, monitor vital signs, and collaborate with CNAs.

Candidates must hold an LPN license in Illinois and have at least 1 year of Medical-Surgical experience; long-term care

Qualifications

• Must be a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in Illinois.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in Medical and Surgical setting.
• Long-term care experience is a plus but not required.
• Pass physical, drug screen, lift test, background check and references.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to residents and supervise CNAs on the team.

• Educate residents and families on disease processes and management.
• Ensure adequate medical supplies and maintain accurate nursing records.

Key Responsibilities:

Park Place of Elmhurst is seeking LPN’s to provide resident and nursing care according to physician’s orders and in conformance with recognized nursing techniques and procedures, established standards, and administrative policies. Maintaining accurate and complete records of nursing observations and care. Performs all functions in compliance with CDC, OSHA, JCAHO, State and Federal Regulatory bodies. Communicates and interprets the goals of care to the resident and family/caregiver.

• Responsible to provide direct nursing care to the clients and manage the day-to-day activities performed by the Certified Nursing Assistants working as a team.
• Administers medications and treatments according to physician orders.
• Provides education and guidance to clients and their families on disease process and management.
• Ensure adequate medical supplies are available to meet the medical needs of the patients.
• Receive and review nursing report at the beginning of the shift and compile nursing report at the end of the shift.
• Monitor vital signs in accordance with the resident’s treatment plan.

Requirements

• Must be a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the state of Illinois.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in Medical and Surgical setting.
• Previous experience in long-term care is a plus but not required.
• Pass a physical, drug screen, 50-pound lift test, fingerprint for criminal background and complete the reference check.
