Job summary

Quality Correctional Care (QCC) is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse for full-time day shifts at Cass County Jail in Logansport, IN. We provide medical and mental healthcare to justice-involved patients, focusing on compassionate, holistic care and rehabilitation.

You will administer medications, perform intakes, manage chronic care, respond to emergencies, and collaborate with the medical team to deliver high-quality care in a secure, respectful environment.

Qualifications

  • Valid LPN licensure.
  • Valid CPR certification.
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to push, pull, reach and bend frequently.

Responsibilities

  • Assess, plan, and deliver comprehensive healthcare to patients by providing the following.
  • Administer medications.
  • Perform medical intakes and assess if patient is fit for incarceration, as needed.
  • Respond to sick call requests and follow up with the medical provider when needed.
  • Check and/or change medical dressings as required by the medical provider.
  • Performing 14‑day physicals.
  • Managing chronic care.
  • Responding to medical emergencies.
  • Be capable of performing life saving measures and give direction in an emergency.
  • Maintain working knowledge of pharmacology, including drug reactions, formulary/non‑formulary medications, and medication costs.
  • Provide insight and direction to Medically Trained Personnel, as needed.
  • Comply with all current and future state, federal, and local laws and regulations.

Nursing Responsibilities:

  • Maintain working knowledge of pharmacology, including but not limited to drug reaction/overdose, formulary/non‑formulary medications, and knowledge of medication costs
  • Be able to provide insight and direction to Medically Trained Personnel, as needed.
  • Comply with all current and future state, federal, and local laws and regulations

Location: Cass County Jail, Logansport, IN

Shift Opening(s): 7AM to 7PM, 3 days per week with every other weekend rotation

Pay Range: $30-36/hour based on experience

Requirements:

  • Valid LPNlicensure
  • Valid CPR certification
