Job summary

Plattsburgh-Rehabilitation-and-Nursing-Center in Plattsburgh, NY is hiring LPN and RN for night and evening shifts on a full-time basis. New grads welcome; compensation starts at $30.50 per hour with a max of $32.50, and an evening/night differential up to $32.85 per hour.

Qualifications

• Licensed to practice as RN or LPN as required by state regulations.
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience.

• Ability to administer medications and perform nursing procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provides safe resident care and executes assigned treatments per standards and policies.
• Participates in quality improvement efforts for resident care.
• Applies age-specific care needs and procedures in daily practice.
• Communicates resident information and plan of care during breaks, transfers, and shift reports.
• Administers medications according to the five rights and documents accordingly.
• Performs treatments using sterile or clean technique as required.
• Administers external feedings when needed.
• Completes care activities within scheduled shift times.
• Cooperates with reassignments to support resident care.
• Reports and works toward solutions for resident care issues with nursing leadership.

Provides safe resident care, demonstrating knowledge and competency in completing assigned treatments and procedures according to established standards and policies. Maintains awareness of new updates standards and incorporates them into his/her nursing practice through out the continuum of care.

Participates in the improvement process of quality resident care.

Incorporates age-specific needs, provision of care, procedures, and treatments.

Communicates pertinent resident information and plan of care before breaks, during transfer, and at shift report.

Accurately administers medications according to the five rights of medication administration and documentation of same.

Accurately performs treatments utilizing sterile or clean technique.

Accurately administers external feedings.

Completes resident care-related activities within scheduled shift time periods.

Cooperates with reassignments made in the interest of resident care.

Reports resident care problems and possible solutions to the appropriate nursing management personnel.

Delegates resident care problems and possible solutions to the appropriate nursing management personnel.
