Qualifications

Location: Sentara Leigh Hospital - Norfolk, VA

Position Status: Full-time, 36 hours per week

Shifts Open: Second or Third Shift

Available Hours: 7:00 p.m. - 7:00 a.m.

11:00 a.m. - 11:00 p.m.

Weekends: Every Third Weekend

Holiday Rotation: Required

Join a collaborative team serving patients across all acuity levels in an Emergency Department with more than 40 beds and over 100,000 patient visits annually . What You Will Do

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides basic nursing care under the supervision of an RN or Licensed Independent Practitioner (LIP) in the clinical setting, within the scope of practice dictated by the State Boards of Nursing. The LPN must be detail-oriented, compassionate, and able to handle physically demanding tasks. The LPN is an essential member of the healthcare team offering patient care and supporting higher level nurse and physicians in delivering comprehensive medical services.

Education Requirements

Degree or diploma in Licensed Practical Nursing required

Students completing an accredited nursing program may be considered

Certification/Licensure Requirements

Licensed Practice Nurse license required

Students in the process of obtaining a Practical Nurse license may be considered

Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 90 days of hire

NIHSS, TCRN, SCRN, TNCC, CEN, PALS, and ACLS preferred

Experience Requirements

Prior LPN experience preferred

Emergency Department experience preferred

Strong candidates with related acute care, critical care, intermediate care, trauma, cardiac, stroke, or med/surg experience are encouraged to apply

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $28.57 - $43.04 hourly. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
