Job summary

Dermatology Specialists is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our growing team. The LPN will work with the Clinical Manager and Physician, providing dermatology services and excellent patient care.

Training will be provided on site, and a 16-hour Derm Tech online course is reimbursed before starting. The pay rate starts at $22.50/hour, for a full-time position, with benefits, 401(k) and discounted cosmetic treatments.

Qualifications

• Active nursing license in Minnesota and current CPR/BLS certification.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Rooming and assisting physicians with procedures.
• Prepare patients for examinations and document history.
• Assist with biopsies and select surgical/cosmetic procedures.
• Answer patient calls and relay information to physicians.
• Maintain pathology processes.
• Suture removal, dressing changes, and patch testing as ordered.
• Educate patients on treatment plans and medications.
• Sterilize equipment and exam rooms.
• Coordinate patient needs with care pods.
• Document patient needs concisely.
• Other duties as assigned.

This is a full-time position with a Monday–Friday practice schedule, and our practice is closed on weekends. Depending on the position, select roles may offer a four-day workweek with 10-hour shifts. Job Summary

The LPN will work directly with the Clinical Manager and Physician in providing dermatological services and excellent patient care. All training will be provided on site, as well as a reimbursement for a 16-hour Derm Tech online course completed before starting. The rate of pay is starting at $22.50/hour, based on experience and qualifications, for a full-time position, plus eligible for benefits, 401(k) and discounted cosmetic treatments.

Responsibilities:

• Perform rooming techniques and assisting physicians with procedures
• Performing clinical tasks to support physicians such as: preparing patients for examinations as directed by the physician, obtaining history and chief complaint for office visit, assisting physicians with biopsies, and assisting physicians with select surgical and cosmetic procedures
• Taking patient phone calls and relaying information between patient and physician
• Accurately maintain the pathology process in its entirety
• Select clinical procedures such as suture removal, dressing changes, and patch testing as ordered by the physician
• Patient education as directed by the physician on treatment plans, procedures and medications
• Sterilization of equipment, supplies, exam and procedure rooms using germicides, sterilizer or autoclave
• Assign a triage priority based upon information available
• Coordinate the needs of the patient with supporting pods and assist in problem solving related to the welfare of the patient
• Document concisely, descriptively and legibly indicating patents’ needs
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Job Qualifications

• Candidates must maintain an active nursing license and in good standing with the Minnesota Board of Nursing and maintain a current CPR/BLS certification.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities.

• Professional demeanor and recognition of privacy considerations for patients and families
• Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.

Experience

• Previous medical field experience preferred.
• Experience in Dermatology and/or Mohs.

Physical requirements

Clinic work required to stand, walk, sit, and carry items less than 25 pounds. Continually utilize visual acuity to operate equipment, read clinical information, and/or use a keyboard.

Pay: $22.50 - $28.50 per hour, depending on experience

Schedule: Monday - Friday, no weekends. Select positions offer a 4-day, 10-hour workweek
