The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at the CrisisCare Center is responsible for providing medical psychiatric assistance to adult consumers with mental illness or co-occurring disorders. Responsibilities include workflow activities, maintaining confidentiality, and demonstrating knowledge of co-occurring disorders and interventions. The goal is to minimize the disabling effects of mental illness and substance abuse, empower consumers to manage their health, prevent diseases, and improve overall wellness through health strategies and disease management models addressing behavioral disorders.

Requirements include completion of a Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) Program and current certification as an LPN in Oklahoma.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with clients with mental illness or substance abuse (preferred, not required)
  • Knowledge of professional LPN care techniques, medical procedures, supplies, sanitation, personal hygiene, and nutrition
  • Skills in planning, organizing, and applying nursing care techniques for clients with mental health and co-occurring disorders
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions
  • Judgment, initiative, patience, and the ability to maintain harmonious relationships with consumers
  • Physical ability to lift/maneuver at least 50 pounds and perform repetitive motions (bending, stooping, twisting, etc.) for up to 8 hours per shift

This position is classified as a “safety-sensitive” role under Oklahoma law. Possession of a medical marijuana license does not disqualify an applicant, but all employees are subject to the Family & Children's Services Drug-Free Workplace Policy.
