Job summary

Valley Hospital in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Per Diem Behavioral Health LPN to join a dedicated team of professionals. The LPN will provide nursing care under the direction of a Registered Nurse, with a focus on psychiatric conditions and safety, and will participate in data collection for assessments.

The role requires one year of psychiatric LPN experience, an LPN license, CPR certification, and completion of SAMA within 30 days. Location is 3550 East Pinchot Avenue, Phoenix.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of Nursing and a valid unrestricted LPN license (or multi-compact state license).
• One year as an LPN in psychiatric nursing required.
• Must pass a medication administration exam before administering medications.
• CPR certification upon hire.
• Successful completion of SAMA including restraint and seclusion policies within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care under RN supervision for assigned patients in a psychiatric setting.
• Collect data for integrated assessment and communicate changes in patient condition to the RN.
• Demonstrate compassionate patient care, maintain boundaries, and ensure confidentiality.

Job Description:

The LPN performs under the direction of a Registered Nurse in providing nursing care to assigned patients, utilizing basic understanding of psychiatric and personality disorders. The LPN accurately collects data need for the appropriate portion of the integrated assessment. The LPN must have a knowledge of psychiatric and medical nursing procedures. Communicates changes in the patient’s condition to the (RN) We look for nurses who demonstrate competent patient care,good communication and relationship skills; ability to set boundaries, hold confidences, establish and maintain trust; social maturity, emotional stability, self-confidence and assertiveness.
