Job Summary

Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Physician, provides nursing care for patients, including data collection, monitoring, documentation, and patient/family instruction. Performs additional licensed patient care functions as needed.

Essential Functions

  • Deliver patient care based on individualized care plans, addressing physical, emotional, cultural, spiritual, psychosocial, and educational needs.
  • Monitor and document patient status, including vital signs, drains, dressings, and lab values.
  • Report observations and changes in patient conditions to the appropriate healthcare provider.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential medical records.
  • Collect and document data using specialized equipment as delegated.
  • Administer medications following policy and document administration.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Supervisory/Management Responsibility

This is a non-management role reporting to a supervisor, manager, or director.

Minimum Requirements
  • Completion of an LPN program recognized by the SC State Board of Nursing.
  • At least one (1) year of LPN experience.
In Lieu Of
  • Completion of a Prisma Health Nurse Residency Program or equivalent residency.
  • Program equivalency recognized by the SC State Board of Nursing.
  • Enrollment in an accredited LPN to RN transition program.
Required Certifications
  • Licensed LPN in South Carolina.
  • If obtaining RN licensure, notify management promptly; RN licensure will be accepted temporarily.
