Job summary

Viera Health and Rehabilitation Center in Melbourne, FL is seeking licensed practical nurses (LPN) to join our Full Time and Part Time teams. Sign-on bonus $5,000 for 3p-11p shifts; shift differential $1-$1.25/hr; Great working environment and BCBS health insurance offered.

Responsibilities include providing nursing care as prescribed, documenting progress, administering medications, and collaborating with the nursing team to maintain high standards of patient care.

Qualifications

• Licensed Practical Nurse license current in Florida.
• At least 1 year of Skilled Nursing experience preferred.
• Current/active CPR certification required.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
• Professional, confidential, and team-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Assess and document resident progress in the medical record.
• Monitor turning and positioning of residents.
• Obtain changes in physician’s orders as indicated by resident’s progress.
• Communicate pertinent information about resident condition and progress to charge nurses, supervisors and Director of Nursing.
• Maintain clean, orderly treatment cart and restock treatment supplies.
• Follow Infection Control policies and procedures.
• Administer medications and treatments accurately as ordered by the physician and according to all facility policies and procedures.
• Document pressure sore status weekly or more often as condition changes.
• Assist in monitoring the inventory of medications, medical supplies and equipment to be sure adequate supplies of skin care products are on hand to meet the needs of residents.
• Participate in educational programs for residents and their family members relative to skin care when a resident is being discharged to home.
• Participate in Quality Improvement activities, as assigned.

Summary of the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN):

Job Requirements of Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN):

• Licensed Practical Nurse current state license in Florida.
• At least one (1) year of Skilled Nursing experience preferred.
• Must have a current/active CPR certification.

• Effective verbal and written English communication skills.
• Highest level of professionalism with the ability to maintain confidentiality.
