Job summary

Aspirus St. Luke's in Duluth, MN, is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse for the 3W Psychiatry team. This part-time position (0.75 FTE) involves day/night rotation and provides care under RN supervision in a collaborative setting.

The LPN will assist with daily living activities, administer medications, document progress, and support patient-centered care in a busy psychiatric unit. Minnesota licensure and BLS are required, with Wisconsin background screening as applicable.

ASPIRUS ST. LUKE'S HOSPITAL in Duluth, MN is seeking a LICENSED PRACTICAL NURSE to join our 3W PSYCHIATRY team! Salary Range: $25.38 - $33.14 Hourly Schedule/Hours: DAY/NIGHT ROTATION, 12 hours Weekend Requirement: Every Other Weekend FTE: PART TIME, 0.750000 FTE

JOB SUMMARY

The Licensed Practical Nurse applies and demonstrates knowledge of the Scope of Nursing Practice as defined by the MN Board of Nursing and reinforced in St. Luke's policies. Understands the LPN role as part of the team that delivers patient care under the direction of the RN. Responsible for assisting patients with activities of daily living according to plan of care. Administers medications according to policy. Documents and reports pertinent information relating to patients progress.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Education: See Licensure/Certification/Registration requirements.
  • Experience: N/A
  • Licensure/Certification/Registration: Current license in Minnesota to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse. BLS Certification with a designation of either BLS Provider or Healthcare Provider from either the American Heart Association or American Red Cross or Military Training Network. Wisconsin Background Study upon hire and renewed per Wisconsin state law.

Performs tasks within scope of education and Scope of Nursing Practice; maintains confidentiality; communicates effectively, both oral and written; supports St. Luke's goals; learns and performs basic computer keyboard operations.

READING - Intermediate: Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.

WRITING - Intermediate: Ability to write routine reports, correspondence, or procedures.

SPEAKING - Intermediate: Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one, small group situations or before groups of customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS - Intermediate Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals and to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw or interpret bar graphs to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY - Intermediate Skills: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

AGE SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES - Skilled at assessment and knowledgeable of growth and development. Provides appropriate care respective to the ages of the patients served per clinical environment. Maintains competency with Age Specific independent study requirements, with a passing score annually.
