Qualifications
  • Education: Graduation from an accredited practical nursing program and current Arkansas licensure as an LPN.
  • Training & Experience: Orientation period of at least 2 weeks, up to 3 months.
  • Knowledge & Skills: Competency in LPN skills, ability to administer treatments and medications, collect patient data, collaborate with healthcare team, and educate patients and families.
  • Safety Sensitive: YES. Note that active use of medical marijuana disqualifies employment in this position.
Job Responsibilities

Under RN supervision, the LPN provides patient care by gathering data, identifying nursing problems, implementing and evaluating care plans. Collaborates with healthcare professionals to ensure effective care and positive patient outcomes. Acts as a resource nurse during orientation. Incorporates patient’s age, cultural, spiritual, and emotional needs into care. Contributes to quality improvement initiatives.

Physical Requirements

The role involves physical activity such as lifting and moving patients (up to 50 pounds), pushing carts and wheelchairs, and responding to emergencies. Visual and auditory skills are essential. The job requires significant writing and computer work. Exposure to bodily fluids and infectious wastes necessitates appropriate protective gear.
